Ingredients

Scale

Salmon

  • 4 salmon fillets (56 ounces each), skin-on or skinless

Boursin Cheese Mixture

  • 1 Boursin cheese round (5.2 oz) – garlic & fine herbs flavor preferred
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter (divided)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Garnish and Serving

  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional garnish)
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure it reaches the ideal temperature for baking the salmon evenly.
  2. Prepare Baking Dish: Lightly grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  3. Mix Boursin Cheese Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the Boursin cheese, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, and half of the olive oil or melted butter. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well combined to create a flavorful topping.
  4. Prepare Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel, then drizzle with the remaining olive oil. Season both sides with salt and black pepper to taste.
  5. Arrange Salmon: Place the seasoned salmon fillets in the prepared baking dish, skin side down if using skin-on fillets, ensuring they are spaced evenly.
  6. Apply Cheese Topping: Spoon the Boursin cheese mixture evenly over each salmon fillet. Gently spread it with the back of a spoon to cover the tops.
  7. Bake Salmon: Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets. The salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork and the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  8. Rest and Garnish: Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for 2 minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve alongside lemon wedges for a bright finish.

Notes

  • Ensure salmon fillets are similar in size for even cooking.
  • Use skin-on fillets for added flavor and moisture retention, but skinless works well too.
  • You can substitute Boursin cheese with cream cheese mixed with herbs if unavailable.
  • Adjust seasoning as preferred; add more lemon zest for extra brightness.
  • Check internal temperature with a meat thermometer for safe and perfect doneness.
