Ingredients

Scale

Protein & Vegetables

  • 1 pound Ground Turkey
  • ½ Cup Yellow Onion, diced
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 3 Cups Broccoli Florets

Liquids & Oils

  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 4 Cups Chicken Broth

Seasonings & Dairy

  • ½ teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
  • ⅔ Cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
  • 4 Tablespoons Butter

Pasta

  • 8 ounces Medium Shell Pasta

Instructions

  1. Cook the Turkey: Add the olive oil to a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the ground turkey, breaking it into large chunks. Cook for about 5 minutes until the turkey is almost browned but still slightly pink, as it will continue cooking later.
  2. Sauté Onions: Add the diced yellow onion to the skillet with the turkey and cook for another 5 minutes until the onions soften and become translucent.
  3. Add Garlic and Seasonings: Stir in the minced garlic, kosher salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until fragrant and well combined.
  4. Add Broth and Broccoli: Pour in the chicken broth and add the broccoli florets. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
  5. Cook the Pasta: Add the medium shell pasta to the skillet, stirring so it is mostly submerged in the broth. Cook uncovered for 10-12 minutes, or until the pasta is al dente, stirring occasionally. If the liquid evaporates before the pasta is done, add extra water or broth as needed.
  6. Finish with Cheese and Butter: Once the pasta is cooked, remove from heat and stir in the grated parmesan cheese and butter until melted and creamy. Serve warm for a comforting and delicious meal.

  • Use gluten-free pasta to make this recipe gluten-free.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes to your preferred spice level.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated gently on the stove or microwave.
