Ingredients

Scale

For the Burger Bowl:

  • 1/2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 1 lb lean ground beef (90-96% lean)
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt (plus additional 1/2 tsp for sauce)
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups frozen french fries (Idaho Potato shoestring fries)
  • 10 oz romaine lettuce
  • 7 oz roma tomatoes, diced
  • 1/2 cup white onion, diced
  • 1 cup pickles, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (thick cut)

For the Special Burger Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup light mayo
  • 1/4 cup pickle juice
  • 1/4 cup finely diced dill pickles
  • 2 tbsp finely diced white onion
  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • 1/2 tbsp mustard
  • pinch black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook the Fries: Start by cooking the frozen shoestring fries according to the package instructions. For extra crispiness, use an air fryer with a light spray of avocado oil and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Set aside once done.
  2. Cook the Ground Beef: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat with a small amount of olive oil. Add the lean ground beef and break it up with a meat masher or spatula. Add the diced white onion and sprinkle with salt. Cook until the beef is halfway done.
  3. Season the Beef: Once the beef is partially cooked, add onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well and continue cooking until the beef is fully cooked through and flavorful.
  4. Prepare Salad Ingredients: While the fries and beef cook, dice the pickles, white onion, roma tomatoes, and chop or chop the romaine lettuce as needed to prepare your fresh base.
  5. Make the Special Burger Sauce: In a small bowl or measuring cup, whisk together light mayo, pickle juice, finely diced dill pickles, finely diced white onion, ketchup, mustard, salt, and a pinch of black pepper until fully combined.
  6. Assemble the Burger Bowl: Layer romaine lettuce first in your bowl, then add the cooked ground beef, shredded cheddar cheese, diced white onion, diced tomatoes, chopped pickles, and crispy fries. Drizzle generously with the homemade special burger sauce. Serve immediately and enjoy!
