- Prepare the Jalapeños: Using gloves, wash the jalapeños, remove the stems, and cut them into thin, long strips. Set aside to keep them ready for coating.
- Set up Coating Stations: In a shallow bowl or a gallon zip bag, place the all purpose flour. In another shallow bowl, whisk together the buttermilk and egg until smooth. In a third bowl, combine the Panko bread crumbs, tempura batter mix, garlic powder, Slap Ya Mama® seasoning, and black pepper; mix well to create the seasoned breadcrumb mixture.
- Heat the Oil: Pour the vegetable oil into a skillet and heat it over medium-high heat until it reaches a frying temperature (about 350°F or until a small piece of bread sizzles and turns golden within seconds).
- Coat the Jalapeños: Dip the jalapeño strips first into the flour, ensuring they are fully coated. Then dip them into the buttermilk and egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off. Finally, dredge the strips in the seasoned Panko and tempura mixture, pressing lightly to adhere the coating.
- Fry the Jalapeño Fries: Carefully place the coated jalapeño strips into the hot oil in a single layer, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry them on one side for 1-2 minutes until golden and crispy, then turn them over and fry the other side for another 1-2 minutes.
- Drain and Serve: Once crispy and golden brown, remove the jalapeño fries from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve immediately while hot and crispy.

		Notes

- Wear gloves when handling jalapeños to avoid irritation from the capsaicin oil on your skin.
- Adjust frying oil temperature to prevent the fries from burning or absorbing too much oil.
- For an extra crispy texture, double coat the jalapeño strips by repeating the buttermilk and breadcrumb step before frying.
- Serve with a cooling dip like ranch or a creamy cilantro sauce to balance the heat.
