These Pecan Pie Crescent Rolls are a delightful twist on traditional pecan pie, featuring a buttery crescent roll dough filled with a sweet, pecan-packed filling. Perfectly baked until golden and topped with a glossy glaze, these rolls combine the rich flavors of pecans, vanilla, and corn syrup in an easy-to-make treat ideal for dessert or a special brunch.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough

  • 1 can Pillsbury Crescent Rolls

Filling

  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare Filling Mixture: In a large bowl, mix together the sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla extract, and egg. Reserve 2 tablespoons of this mixture for brushing later.
  3. Combine Pecans: Stir the chopped pecans into the remaining filling mixture until they are evenly coated, creating the pecan filling.
  4. Prepare Crescent Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate into individual triangles. Arrange them spaced out on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Fill and Roll: Spoon about 2 to 3 tablespoons of the pecan filling onto the widest end of each triangle, then carefully roll the dough toward the narrow end to encase the filling.
  6. First Bake: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 8 minutes to allow the dough to start setting.
  7. Glaze and Bake Again: Remove the rolls from the oven and brush each one with the reserved 2 tablespoons of the sugar mixture, then return them to the oven for an additional 5 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
  8. Optional Topping: Once baked, remove the rolls from the oven and optionally sprinkle additional chopped pecans on top for extra crunch and visual appeal before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute light corn syrup with maple syrup or honey for a different flavor profile.
  • Make sure not to overfill the crescent rolls to prevent filling leakage during baking.
  • For an extra touch, serve warm with a drizzle of caramel sauce or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
  • If you prefer a less sweet option, reduce the sugar in the filling by 1-2 tablespoons.
